I am glad to greet you on my homepage.

20 years ago I got hold of my first safe plate and I started to become interested in this topic. Such a plate is often the only thing that remains of a safe. On this homepage I want to intruduce you to the variety and beauty of safe plates of the last centuries. In search of old manufacturers of safes we have so far discovered more than 600 of them in Germany alone. Classifying the safe plates according to their production year is quite difficult because you only very seldom find a date on them. It is only possible to classify them according to their style eg Wilhelminian Style or Art Nouveau). Most of the plates rank between 1860 and 1910.
Of course I am interested in more of the rare safe plates. I would be very grateful if you could also provide some extra information on the manufacturing firm eg the foundation yoear..
